Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Friday... I had to double check before I put on my jeans this morning
we have Casual Fridays & I honestly wasnt sure if it was Thursday or Friday this morning...I think I just needed more sleep

*****

Gonna be a busy weekend!!
(I know no one is surprised when I say that)
But on Saturday, I get to SHOOT people!!!
& not with a camera!
(Are you scared now?)

We're actually having a youth leader gathering at LAZER TAG!!!

I have a feeling I'll be the first person zapped out
while Ricky will take all his xbox training of Ghost Recon
& be hiding in spots & knocking everyone out
...his dream come true...

*****

Sunday - I'll be in musical heaven
I'm taking my momma & we're headed to the theater to see
WICKED!!!!!!!

Source: bing.com via Rebecca on Pinterest

We saw it about 2 years ago & when it came back,
knew we would be seeing it again.
Works out perfectly because my momma's birthday is Monday so this was the perfect birthday present for her.

I'll be singing "Defying Gravity" double the normal times I sing it
(I actually have it set in my CD player... its my go-to song before any race and any photography seession...dont ask me why)

*****

 So I'm a little bummed...
I hurt my lower back... not sure how...
Everyone says its from running
I actually think its from holding a 7 lb camera from my neck 2 weeks in a row
for 10 hours straight... while on my feet the whole time

Bad thing?
There is a half marathon coming up on November 3 that I wanted to do
& I need to register by Sunday evening if I'm going to do it

I know my training needs to take a week or two off & then that's gonna mess me up for this race...

I'm so dang upset about it!!!
dont know why I care so much

But The Hubs reminded me that there's more races in the future
& he's right - I'd rather do my 6th Ky Derby Half Marathon in April then this
so maybe I'll just skip this one

but know on November 3rd - I'll be in my bed having a pity party

*****

Anyone else watch Grey's Anatomy season premiere?
Anyone make it through without crying?
...I want to meet you because you have a heart of steel....

*****

Got to go see my nieces Cross Country meet again last night
& this time, Sophia didnt run alone

....NO!!! I didnt get in & run with a bunch of small children!
(I actually did run the track before the kids got there though)

But Sophia had her sister join her!

(Sophia loves the camera... Madi?  Not so much)

We were so nervous for Madi...
afraid she'd be wayyyy behind her sister & feel bad

but lo & behold, here comes Sophia
& hot on her trail - Madi!!!
They finished at 9:20 & 9:23!!!

I'm so proud of these little stinkers!!!

*****

You probably saw this on my Facebook page
but for those of you that dont see that
(I'm talking to you mom & dad)
here's my latest finish line picture from Sunday's race

I always said I would never buy race pictures
... the prices are re-donk-u-lous!!!!...
But I love crossing the finish line with the Hubs!

(Now I'm even more depressed about msising the Nov 3rd race)

*****

Leaves are starting to turn...
my favorite time of the year

*****

Tip of the Day

Love this!  I have so many USB Cords that I have no idea what goes to what
You can write on the toilet paper cardboard as well so you lift it out & viola!
You know exactly what it goes to.... while keeping it straight!
Put in a really cute box & you can even leave by the computer or tv!

*****

PITCH PERFECT comes out this weekend!!!
Any movie that has singing it it?  I'm usually excited about...

Les Miserables coming out in December?
I tear up everytime I see the trailer!!!
& not just because I'm excited that Hugh Jackman is in it...

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS FRIDAY!!!!
(its Friday... right?)

Hodgepodge

Half way there...

1. The Wednesday Hodgepodge falls on John Chapman's birth date. He's more famously known as Johnny Appleseed...what's your favorite variety of apple?

First, I saw the name "Chapman" & got all giddy excited... is he related to one of the greatest people in the world?  Steven Curtis Chapman? Hmmm....

My favorite apple... I used to really be addicted to Golden Delicious - but have discovered Honeycrisp... Yummmmm-Y!  So sweet & juicy.... & expensive! Boo!

2.  When did you last say 'ick'?

When I stepped in dog poop
... barefoot...

3.   Do you think there's a generation gap? Explain.

I see the generation gap EVERY.STINKING.WEEKEND!  Being a Youth Leader in middle school really reminds me of the different worlds we come from.

These kids have no idea who Johny Carson is, what transister radios are, what "Pretty in Pink" the movie is about... they have no idea what September 11th felt like, or really understand it.

But my parents say the same thing about me... I dont understand telephone party lines, gas for 10 cents, marriage at 16, a beehive hairdo.

4.  What's on your computer screen saver? Do you change it often or leave it alone?

I never change my screen saver... being someone who takes pictures, I'd want to change it every weekend - so best not to start that that road.  My pretty blue, blank screen works well for me.

5.   If you had the attention of the entire world for two minutes what would you say?

I'd probably just giggle & not get a word out because of nerves
... the ENTIRE WORLD?  whoo...

I'd try to get out "May the Odds ever be in your favor"
& then do a ROCK ON hand sign

... I never make sense...

6.  Four fashion trends to try this fall are brocade/jacquard (fancy fabrics), peplum, lace, and printed pants...which of these four would you be most likely to wear?

First of all, I only like lace on wedding dresses (& that's just fairly new - I used to loathe lace)...

Second - I dont even know how to prounouce 'jacquard' or 'peplum' - nor even know that peplum means...

Third - Print on my pants?  My butt is big enough - no prints

I'm sticking with my Old Navy shirts & jeans... that's always my Fall Fashion

7.  What can make your bad day better?
A good run... always gives me energy & makes me feel like I've accomplished something

8.  Insert your own random thought here

I want these shoes...badly... they come out October 1st... arent they adorable?  & love that its for the Christina Applegate Foundation.  Love her!

Tis the Season...

The most wonderful time of the year...

no, not the Holidays...

I'm actually one of those people who dont look forward to the Holidays... too much stress...

My favorite time of the year - FALL!!!!!

The cooler air
The leaves changing
Pumpkins & apples everywhere
Sweaters & jean weather everyday

But with every good, a little bad must come...

Let me give you a hint what my bad is...

All of these are just in my purse...

This isnt including the extra I have in my desk at work, the ones I have on my bed side table & the ones on my bathroom counter.

My lips are DYING!!!!!

Nothing seems to really work.

I really think this makes my lips worse sometimes - but what do you do?

I really try to stick with the 'all natural' ones too the most, but they still dont seem to help.

I know my problem is I forget to put it on in the most important times...
... I forgot to put it on when we did the outdoor wedding - with winds of 25 mph
... & I forgot to put it on the next day when we were running the race
... I actually forget to put it on everytime I run... I usually remember about the first mile when my lips are throbbing

UGH!

Does the Fall weather make anyone elses lips hurt?

What is your favorite Lip Balm?

Am I the only Scrooge that doesnt care for the Holidays?

Weekend Roundup

Whew... I'm sitting at my desk ready to sleep...but its Monday, & I'm at work, at my desk.

They frown on sleeping at your desk... no fair...

But here's how my weekend looked like

Friday

* I stopped at Starbucks on the way home - got a Java Chip Frap - it looked A-MAZ-ING!  Chocolate-y & yummy... but as I was walking out to the car, I had it in a small basket from the grocery with some sparkling water & thanks to the bumpy road, it fell over & dumped all over me... right down my pant legs, right into my suede shoes.  I was so freaking mad.... mainly because the drink looked so good.

(This doesnt even show how soaked my pants were... or how wet my shoes were
... or how mad my face was)

* Chasity & I headed to the wedding rehearsal of the Bride & Groom we would be shooting the next day...

* Got home & made sure everything was charged & I tried to get to bed early... got a little caught up though in that show on CMT about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.  I never watch CMT but somehow catch this show every year. (Side note:  I always used to dress up like a Cowboy cheerleader when I was little.  I just loved to tie that knot in the middle of my shirts)

Saturday

*Wedding Day!!!!  Which means very few pictures of the day because I had a camera around my neck all day... which makes no sense really.

* It was an outdoor wedding - which I've been so excited to do - but whew, HANG ON... the wind was INTENSE.  While the grandparents were walking down the aisle, I had to make sure the arch didnt blow over at the front of the ceremony.

* The wedding had a photo booth for all the guests & the Bride & Groom get a copy of all the pics - so Chasity & I had to take a minute before we left to leave our mark.

(We were saying "We love you" with a nose pick at the end)

* It was so cool to see the Bride & Groom from the previous wedding attending THIS wedding.  Their family was also attending - it felt like a reunion.  I love getting to know families.  You'd be surprised how much you feel attached to people in the span of one day.

* MY BIG TOE... I got some cute Crocs (yes, they do exist) & they really help my feet since I'm standing from 11am - 9pm - but the past 2 weddings, my big toe always hurts on one foot.  Isnt that weird?

Sunday

* So I won an entry for a race... I wanted to do it but was afraid to enter knowing it was the day after a wedding (which EXHAUSTS me)... but when I won the entry, I thought, let's give it a go.... but then, we OVERSLEPT!!!
I set my alarm on my phone for Saturday - not Sunday.... we needed to leave the house at 7am... we woke up at 6:50am!!!!!!!!!!  I jumped up & asked Ricky, "What do we do?" - he said, "Its up to you.  If you're going to feel bad about not doing it, let's get up - if you dont care, let's go back to bed" .... I knew I'd kick myself if I didnt try.  So we were up & out of the house in 10 minutes

* Eating half of a protein bar in the car & about 4 oz of water before a race isnt the smartest way to start a race...

* My iPod died as we were walking to the start line... I just knew this race was going to be the worse one ever... but Ricky pulled out a camera, so I dont care how upset I was, I've gotta smile.  I know the rules of what to do in front of a camera.

(In my mind, I'm thining, "Dang Stupid Ipod" while my stomach is growling)

* Thankful that Ricky was with me... he kept me smiling, encouraging me & going with an empty stomach & a sore back from the day before...

* We finished ... & did decent... I ended up beating my time from last year by 1 minute, 3 seconds... that's awesome!!!!

* Probably in my top 2 fav medals... the center spins

* we were ready for FOOD at this point.  So we headed up to Cracker Barrel.. & yes, I wore my medal in.

* Stopped to get my car washed on the way home ... I spent $10 for the premium wash - got out & looked & there are still dead bugs on my car, & dirt on my bumper.  Well, I know not to waste my money on that again.

(Bubbles... reminded me of peacocks.....& my car looked like peacocks pooped on it afterwards)

* Edit Edit Edit... the rest of my Sunday was starting on wedding photos

* Emmy's .... learned that it is DownTON Abby, not DownTOWN Abby... who knew?

* Jimmy Kimmel... thumbs up!

Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

Friday... Friday... Friday!!!

*****

Send me good vibes, would ya?
I'm up to do another wedding tomorrow..

fun times!

But send me well wishes for 2 reasons

1. Its an outdoor wedding...
I'm so pumped about that - but I want to make sure the day is perfect & beautiful

2. I'm running in a race the next day...
I'm usually sore as heck from walking over 10 miles during a wedding & bending & standing & getting in weird poses to capture a picture... & now I'm challenging myself to get up the next day at 6 am to go downtown to run a part of a marthon!!! ...

I must love a challenge

******

Look what I got to do yesterday

Got to go watch Sophia in her cross country meet...

Pic 1 - Look at her holding hands with her friend (how cute!) & look at her hair down. Her mom tried to put it in a ponytail but she wanted it down.
Pic 2 - Me & the one of the fastest runners there!! She came in 63rd out of over 200 girls!!!!  Right at 10 minute mile!!!! GO GIRL
Pic 3 - This is right at the finish line... she stopped short because people were in front of her getting their numbers of their place... she finished strong, believe me.
Pic 4 - Before the race... all huddled up... love she's getting a taste of teamwork!!!

*****

Its been so nice, we havent had our AC on for 2 weeks...

at night, we turn on some window fans & its darn right COLD
... but I love to snuggle under the blankets...

******

Still loving my new car

I'm in the habit now of stopping & vaccuming my carpets once a week
(Black carpets will do that to me)
& even treated my leather seats & wiped down my dash to make it shiny

Anxious to see how long I keep this up

*****

iPhone 5
I dont get it...
of course, I dont have an iPhone either

but people waiting overnight in line for it?
Really?

I can understand doing it for the next Twilight movie - but for an iPhone?

*****

Look at my necklace I'm sporting today...
I never wear big jewelry like this
but back in the good ole days, I would PILE IT ON!!!

I remember people used to call my earrings "Hardee's ashtrays"
They really were that big..

but this necklace?
Its straight from the 80's....
Found it in one of the boxes my parents gave me of my stuff when they moved

Its true what they say - what goes around, comes around
at least in fashion

*****

Summer Finales!!!!

Big Brother... just glad Dan didnt win
So You Think You Can Dance.... thought for SURE Cyrus would win for the boys.  Pleasantly surprised that both the boy & girl I liked won.
Drop Dead Diva.... did it just jump the shark with bringing back the REAL Jane in Owen's body? Me thinks so
Dance Moms.... I love Chloe

Bring on the Fall Season!

Dancing with the Stars
Once Upon a Time
Revenge!!!!
VAMPIRE DIARIES!!!!!!!!!!!

*****

Show I hope you're watching
GO ON

I seriously love this show
Its funny... its sweet... even a tear jerker at times
Hope it works out because Matthew Perry is awesome
...all the characters are HILARIOUS!!!

*****

I want to eat Edamame everyday

*****

Spat of the Week:  Big Brother Finale

When we saw it was down to the final 2 - Ian & Dan
I said, "Ian's got it"

Ricky then proceeded to tell me how Dan could pull it out
...we went back & forth on who would vote for who
& then he had me convinced Dan MIGHT win

When in the end, Dan LOST 1-6,
Ricky still said he was right
His reasoning?
"I told you never to predict's people's behavior & I was right"

I love a spat where you can always turn it around & make yourself right

*****

& speaking of making yourself right...
Enjoy a funny montage of Mr. Wizards World

My dad's dream came true...

My whole life, my dad has had a love for horses...

always grew up with them... even had a horse for my brother when he was little so his children could have the same love of horses as he had...

but life in the city doesnt let you hold onto horses for long...

The love of animals was instilled in my brother & myself... my mom made sure of that...

that's why I have 4 dogs right now & my brother has 2 dogs himself...

But my dad?  Still always wanted his horses back...

a few years ago, he bought a horse but kept it at the barn he was from, with the horses mommy & brother...

More forward a few years & my parents put their house up for sale this year... moved just a few miles away from us... a few miles from my brother...

& guess what the house has?  Land for a horse...

My dad has been working his butt off to get it ready... & this weekend was the time

It was cool too because Julie & the boys were up so they got to see the horses...

We got there & Luke was all curious... hanging onto Pappy but wanting to see what was going on....

Dad's horse came to his new home... with his mommy... So when you hear me talk about Cochese & Candy -you now know.

& this is what they did the whole first hour they were there... checking out the grass...

Must be some good stuff...

Isaac was a little nervous about them & stayed away... even had Julie take him out of the gate & go sit in the shade.

Luke?  He has no fear - he just kept wanting to get closer & closer... its a wonder Luke didnt start eating grass himself after watching Cochese do it for so long...

So there it is... my dad's dream come true... I know its what he's wanted his whole life.

Sometimes dreams take awhile....

Its what I keep telling myself about my dream of being a slim, fit, runner :)

Hodgepodge

Wednesday... time to get my Hodgepodge On...

1. What's the best and worst thing about growing older?

Best? ... time... time to share with family & friends, to try again, to LIVE!!!

Worst?  Got lots of time to listen to the list? ... haha - get it?  A few things:
* Wrinkles
* Turkey necks
* Energy zapped
* achy body
* slow metabolism
* wrinkles
* age spots
* arthritis
* hair looses luster & gets course
* wrinkles

(I could go on & on & ON with a list... but did I mention wrinkles?)

2. Autumn arrives in the Northern Hemisphere this week...what one thing do you love most about the fall season?

The SMELLS!!! ... the smell of pumpkin, the smell of apples, the smell of burning leaves!!!!

(I could go on & on & ON with this list too...LOVE Fall!)

3.  Speaking of fall...pumpkin seems to be flavoring everything these days-are you a fan? What's your favorite pumpkin flavored food or beverage?

I do love pumpkin pie... mmm...

but I think I need to try a Pumpkin drink at Starbucks.  I hear its all the rave.

4.  Since we're on the subject of fall...what's the worst fall you've ever taken?
Owww... my ankle just ached thinking about it...

It was like 2 weeks before Christmas & icy & slick on our porch.  We were headed out to go shopping when, WEEEEEEEEE, an awesome slide off the porch, which I think I did a double twist that would score a perfect 10 in the Olympics.  My ankle was broken straight in half...

I can still remember that pain being so intense, it made me faint ...not fun...

Now everyone knows why I walk like a 98 yr old across anything slippery

5.  If you could own a prop from any film what would you choose?

Since my favorite film is a cartoon, I cant actually have the rose from Beauty & the Beast...

so I'd go for one for my husband & say any of the super hero costumes - Spiderman, Superman, Batman... The Hubs would be happy with any of them.

I'd be the coolest wife EVER if I could own that & give it to hiim :)

6. What's the most interesting word you've read or heard in the past week?

Gangham ... that stupid word is everywhere... Gangham style... or ever better, the guy who does it- Psy...

please future generation, dont name your child Psy

7.  When was the last time you locked yourself out of your house, car, or office? Was it a big deal?

The last time I forgot my keys to my office, it was pretty cool... someone had a key to the front door, but not to the office doors, so I got to get in the building & wait an hour for someone to get here...

So I laid on the couch in the reception area & watched TV for an hour...

easiest hour at work in my life

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Jennifer Aniston ROCKS!!!

I love a gal who can make fun of herself, while making fun of all the idiots that make up stories about her...

Adult Truths

My dad sent this to me in an email... I thought they were pretty funny... & kinda true

& of course, I add my two cents worth on some of them (in red)

Adult Truths:

* Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.  (... that's when you just say "Whatever" & walk away before you dig a deeper hole for yourself)

* I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

* There is great need for a sarcasm font.  (... it'd be the only font I'd use)

* How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? ...(Dont tell me to go to Pinterest either - I still cant do it)

* Was learning cursive really necessary?

* Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure
I know how to get out of my neighborhood. .... (its usually the only thing that's right though before it sends me to an empty field & says, "You have reached your destination")

* Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. ... (Some actually do - I read them & always want to know when someone dies young)

* I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

* Bad decisions make good stories.

* You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. (... usually right after lunch for me, or 8:10 am on Friday)

*  Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. (... PLEASE)

*  I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any
changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

*  I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

*  I think the freezer deserves a light as well. (... our new one has a light. I'm amazed by it)

* I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night
more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

*  I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

*  I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. (...I solve both by eating anyways)

* How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile
because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

* I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent
a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

* Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Jeans? Jeans never get dirty, and you
can wear them forever... (... they're too stiff after you wash them - who wants to ruin that comfy softness?)

*  Sometimes I'll look down at my watch three consecutive times and still not know what
time it is.

*  Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey; but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3-feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

*  People who forward e-mail without deleting the tons of previous recipients should be shot and then tarred and feathered.

*  The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. Ladies quit laughing!

Weekend Wrapup

Another doozy-weekend...

Friday

*The day was all about editing pictures... I knew Julie & the boys were coming in so I took the day off work & worked on pictures all day long... so without further ado, (if you havent seen the preview on my Facebook Photography page) - here's some wedding pics

Saturday

* Woke up to 2 little blond hair boys knocking on our bedroom door... that's a wakeup call that always makes me smile

* We just took it easy this weekend - lots of playing - lots of relaxing around the house - lots of fighting over toys

(Ricky's loved)

* I took the boys to the school playground down the street from us while Ricky & Julie went to pick up lunch... There is a balance beam thing where I would help Isaac walk on - I said, "let's see if Nanny can do it" - Isaac said, "I'll hold you!" - he held my hand & helped me across the beam... he was so excited I made it :)

* While the boys were playing in the sandbox there, I said to Isaac, "You're Pappy's buddy, arent you" - he looked at me & said, "Yes - because he loves me"... Luke instantly turned around & said, "Nanny loves ME!" :)  ... I love conversations like this

* We saved a butterfly with a broken wing... Isaac kept saying, "He'll grow another one & he'll be okay"...I love the innocence of a child's mind.

* Julie & I went out for a 6 mile trek while Ricky & the boys watched a super hero movie... it was a PERFECT night to hit the road. No humidity - the sun wasnt out - perfection.

* The boys are used to Superhero movies with Pappy - well, it was Nanny's turn.  I turned on Thumbelina  ... "let me be your dream"... (I love that song) Isaac kept saying throughout it, "I dont like it - I want Ironman" - but Luke kept saying, "I like this" ... at least I got one vote for it. ........... I never realized how OLD Thumbelina's movie looks.  Way before Pixar - that's for sure.

Sunday

* Ricky's first day officially in Youth Ministry... I told him I needed to take his picture going in the door like a first day at school picture :)

* We headed out to lunch at Culvers... we hadnt ate there in YEARS.  Sitting across from me, I was getting some cute winks from a cute guy...

* I had never had their custard before - but it was time for some goodies all around.  Me & the boys has M&M Sprinkles... anything with M&M's in it has to be good.

* We went to my parents house for their BIG DAY... my dad's horse finally made his way to his new home.  & Cochese brought his momma Candy with him.  (I actually have pictures on my camera I need to download) ... I think my dad's dream finally came true on this day.

* A little bit more playing before the boys head home... with Isaac saying "Why is Nanny & Pappy's house so far away?" ...we try to remind him we're just 3 hours away instead of 18 hours - but in "kid world", its about the same distance.

* Back to Senior High Youth Class...

* & back home to work on a few more wedding pictures...

it was like the circle of life :)

Hope you're weekend was wonderful!

Like Mother, Like Dog-ter

If you've been around my blog for awhile, you know I have a doozy of a time with ear infections.

yes, I'm the adult they want to schedule to put tubes in their ears

... kids dont have to worry about health insurance... adults do... so I just deal with my tri-yearly ear infections

But I'm not the only one in the house with an ear infection all the time...

our big girl, Buffy, gets them too... & this is how she ends up

(She's too ashamed & embarassed to even look at the camera)

She's so bad though because she constantly licks her paw & then rubs her ear.

She has now rubbed off the hair under her ear & caused an ulcer-like thing to bleed

So the cone has to stay on...

& let me tell you - you cant convince me she doesnt know what she's doing because when we put it on her, she aims that baby right for your knees... & that sucker HURTS!!!!

...I think I hear her laugh when she does that too...

So, I left her at home with the cone on her head... I'm sure she had it off 5 minutes after I walked through the door & is rubbing that spot once again...

I'm just glad there's not a cone for me when my ear hurts...

Any tips for dogs who rub their ears?
Any tips on how to hold down a 120 lb dog to clean their ears?
Any one know where to get knee pads cheap at? ;)

Hodgepodge

Hodgepodge Time... you too can join along
- just click the button above & visit other Hodgepodgers

1. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? The NFL is back in action along with all the college teams. Are you a fan? Who do you root for? If you're not a fan what do you do while the rest of America watches Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and now Thursday night games?
I think I've watched maybe 2 games my whole life... & those were Super Bowl games. No team favorites - could care less really.

What do I watch instead?  Sunday - Once Upon a Time ... Monday - Dancing with the Stars Baby!!!... Thursday - Vampire Diaries, or now you add Glee!... Saturday - usually catching up on my Real Housewives of wherever.

See - I have more important things in my life other then football :)

2.  What's something I'll always find in your closet?

Clothes & hangers ... duh...

I kid...

But you'll always find running shoes & flip flops - no matter what the season is

& during a storm?  A dog or two

3. Share one of your earliest memories.
I can remember being in kindergarden.  My aunt owned it & her sister, my grandmother, would come & get me during nap time & we'd run over to a little 5/dime store & get some watermelon Jolly ranchers.  To this day, I dont smell a watermelon Jolly Rancher & not think of her.

4.  What circus act best describes your week so far?

5.  What's a food you disliked as a child that you love now?

Onions ... used to freak out about onions being on anything

now, I love 'em... not raw onions - yuck!
But some good fried up sweet onions?  YUM!

6.  Describe your summer in three words.
just another thing

... we dont vacation or do anything special during summer, so it's just another season... hot & sweaty, which is to be expected... so just another thing

7.   Where were you on September 11, 2001? Will you do anything special to mark the day?

I'll never forget it as long as I live.
My coworkers husband called & told her about the first plane hitting the World Trade Center.  We went into the reception area to watch it on the TV & it was just her & I when they showed live the 2nd plane hitting... we gasped & freaked out...

The rest of the office crammed in that reception area the whole day & watched every minute of it... devestating...

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I had to post this picture... thought it was hilarious.

At the wedding we photographed this past weekend, a family member of the Bride caught Chasity & I in action... but for the record, both my shot & Chasity's shot came out great :) ... its the whole reason to have a Second Shooter

An original....

We're on a series right now with the youth, talking about identity.

With teenagers, how relavent is that?  Afterall, in school, its all about those 'labels'

Are they the jock, the artist, the nerd, the cheerleader, the loner?
...everyone gets labeled...

Ryan taught the kids the other day & brought up a wonderful example...

He showed them the picture of the Mona Lisa

First - I have to say that I was surprised they even knew what it was & second, some actually knew who painted it... impressed, I am...

But he reminded them that they could get copies of that print anywhere, for a cheap price... post cards, posters...& all probably under $20

But how much is that original?  An amount of money that none of us in that room had... even put together...

Why is it so pricey?

Because of who painted it...

the craftmanship in it... the talent... the work... all put into one painting
... the original...

Now look in the mirror....
.... & remember that God created you
.... put craftmanship, talent & work in creating you
.... you're an original....

Now, how much do you think you're worth?

you're priceless

... no matter what your label is
